William D. “Dan” Terrell, age 68 of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at the Sacred Ground Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family. Born August 1, 1955, in Jackson, Kentucky, the son of the late Eugene and Helen (Lindon) Terrell.
Dan proudly served as a Sergeant with the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. He was a retired Machinist for Dayton Reliable Tool with over 32 years of service, and he was member of the Grace Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN. He loved to boat, camp, and was a master chef in the kitchen.
He is preceded in death by father Eugene Terrell, mother Helen Terrell, and his nephew John Terrell, II.
He is survived by his 2 brothers John (Cheri) Terrell, Jay (Jill) Terrell, and 2 sisters Deborah Johnson and Cora Wells. He had many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends that held a special place in his heart.
The family will receive family and friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with funeral services immediately following at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton with Dr. Dan Flory officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Combined Honor Guard.
