Wayne Powell Obituary

Wayne Powell, age 73 of West Alexandria, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 9, 1952, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Ersa Sarah (Curry) Powell and Conley Powell.  


Wayne honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a retired employee of Florida Power & Light in the Nuclear Power Division, and a member of the Farmersville Masonic Lodge #482 F & A.M. Wayne enjoyed golfing, playing guitars and listening to live music, basketball, the Cincinnati Bengals, Ohio State Buckeyes, and especially spending time with his family and friends.


He is survived by his son Matthew “Matt” Powell and wife Katie, his step-sons Craig Woxman and wife Brandy, and Mike Woxman, his grandchildren Alice Powell, Eric, Adam & Ben Woxman, and Ashley Woxman, siblings Linda (Powell) Mowell and husband Ronald, Conley Powell, Jr., Larry Powell, Jerry Powell and wife Elizabeth and Alesha Rankin, as well as numerous other family members and friends.


A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time. Arrangements entrusted to the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton.
