Violet E. “Vel” Pressley, age 71 of West Carrollton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Kettering Medical Center. She was born on May 14, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles & Violet (Hopkins) Metzner.
Vel was a lifelong member of the Nazarene Church, attending the West Carrollton Church of the Nazarene and an active member of the Living Hope Church of the Nazarene. She was also a retired employee with the West Carrollton School District with over 25 years of service.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, James Pressley, 2 daughters Heather Gibson & husband Jon, and Holly Pressley, 2 brothers Chuck Metzner and wife Sandy, Tony Metzner and wife Linda, 2 sisters Becky Ellis and husband John, Sherry Thomas and husband Rick 3 granddaughters that were her pride and joy, Morgan, Marlee & Mackenzie Gibson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the Living Hope Church of the Nazarene, 1150 W. Spring Valley Pike, Centerville, OH 45458 with her son-in-law Pastor Jon Gibson officiating. Burial Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. Please wear masks inside the church and practice social distancing.
