Paul W. Whisman

Paul W. Whisman, age 82 of West Carrollton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Stoney Ridge Senior Living surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 11, 1941, in Franklin, Ohio, the son of the late Donley Clay & Minnie Esther (Dalton) Whisman.

Paul was a retired employee of Dayton Press with 15 years of service and a retired Bus Driver for RTA with 15 years of service. He enjoyed playing guitar and spending time with his family.

Preceded in death by his wife Maude E. “Marty” Whisman on July 15, 2018, his daughter-in-law Deborah Sue “Debbie” Whisman on January 1, 2019, 5 brothers John, Gene, Frank, Donnie and Dick, and by his 2 sisters Lillian and Shirley.

He is survived by his son Brian Whisman, his daughter Tyra Whisman-Perry and husband David, 2 granddaughters Krista Barnes and husband David, Jennifer Whisman Melvin and husband Joe, 12 grandchildren Makenzie Whisman, Hailey Barnes, Cameron Whisman, Cameren Melvin, David Barnes, Jr. (Megan Sparks), Kaleigh Melvin, Conner Kachelmyer, Peyton Barnes (Alure Jewell) , Abigail Barnes, Ellie Barnes, Carter Kachelmyer, and Isabella Melvin, a great great grandson Liam Barnes, and a great great grandson on the way !, close friend Lorene Robinson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the caregivers of Affinity Care of Ohio and especially the caregivers of Stoney Ridge Senior Living for all of their love and care shown to Paul and his family during this difficult time.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27, 2023, at the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton with Rev. Dr. Joel Getts officiating. Inurnment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (2 hours prior to service) on Monday at the funeral home.
