Maudie E. "Marty" Whisman

 Whisman, Maudie E. “Marty”, age 75 of West Carrollton, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 15, 2018 surrounded by her loving family and friends at Hospice of Dayton.

She was born on July 30, 1942 in Campton, Kentucky.

Marty was a loving and devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was a former Hostess in Woody’s Restaurant, and she worked in the Cafeteria at Harry Russell Elementary School for several years. Marty was a member of the sewing group Sew Faithful at Central Presbyterian Church, and she enjoyed cooking for her family, sewing, watching the birds and her blooming flowers in her backyard.

Preceded in death by her mother Maggie M. (Hollon) Sparks, step-father Eugene Sparks, father John Gilbert.  

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Paul W. Whisman, son Brian Whisman and wife Debbie, daughter Tyra Whisman, her 3 brothers Johnnie Gilbert and wife Angela, Keith Gilbert and wife Terri, & Michael Gilbert, 2 sisters Jane Mote and husband Nic; Patty Duffey and husband Donald, step-mother Evelyn Gibbons, 2 grandchildren Krista Barnes and husband David, Jennifer Whisman (Joe Melvin), 12 great grandchildren Makenzie Whisman, Hailley Barnes, Cameron Whisman, Cameren Melvin, David Barnes, Jr., Kaleigh Melvin, Conner Kachelmyer, Peyton Barnes, Abigail Barnes, Ellie Barnes, Carter Kachelmyer and Isabella Melvin as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends including special friends Edward & Linda Holbrook and Linda Creager.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at the SWART FUNERAL HOME, West Carrollton with Rev. Randy Chrisman officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
