Marjorie Irene Steinway

Marjorie Irene Steinway, age 88 of Dayton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Miami Valley Hospital – Main Campus, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 13, 1936, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles H. & Irene (Riddell) Stapleton.

Mrs. Steinway was a community involved leader. She volunteered her time for the Salvation Army and for the voting polls. Marjorie attended the Otterbein Church in Dayton. She enjoyed planting flowers and spending time with her family and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband Richard L. Steinway on October 6, 1997, and by her son-in-law Warren Carter, April 10, 2022, her 3 brothers Charles Stapleton, William Stapleton and George Stapleton.

She is survived by her loving children Vickie L. Provenza and husband Nicholas, Marjorie L Carter, Richard L. Steinway (Joann Nix), and Kathie K. Nash and husband Byron, her sister Linda Purkey, her sister-in-law Margaret Steinway, 9 grandchildren Miranda Provenza (Nate Swetland), Gabriele Provenza and wife Toma, Richard Carter and wife Jordan, Amadeus Carter, Gregory Carter and wife Lee, Ken Carter and Angie, Rod Carter and wife Julie, Brad Carter, Sharon Ross and husband Edward, Tia Manring and husband Dustin, Ryan Steinway (Tory Neal), Heidi LaBlanc and husband Chris, and Zacchaeus Nash, 18 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2024, at the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton with Rev. Dr. Joel Getts officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (1 hour prior to services) on Friday at the funeral home.
