John L. Martin, III, age 66 of Troy, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 19, 2025, at his home. He was born on March 6, 1959, in Abington, PA, the son of the late Virginia (McKenna) & John L. Martin, Jr.

John was a long-haul truck driver for 17 years and was a former employee of Shell Gas Station in Troy. He loved reading, Irish Music & Culture, spending time with his family and friends, and was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies Baseball Team. John also never met a stranger.  

Preceded in death by his daughter Kayleigh Virginia Martin on July 7, 1997.

He is survived by his daughter Lindsey M. Martin, his 2 sons John L. (Jacqueline) Martin IV, and Nicholas L. Rojas, his 2 brothers Jonathan Martin and wife Marie and Jamie Martin, his sister Melissa Stearns and husband Geoff, 7 grandchildren Alyssa, Madilyn, Declan, Keaton, Eloise, Coraline, and Greyson, the mothers of his children Tammy Compton and Tracy Hyer, his dear friend Bob Barnhart, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton.
