Harold Ralph Hammond, 93, of Kettering, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on January 18, 2026, with his wife by his side. He was born on April 19, 1932, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to Beatrice and Wayne Hammond. Harold was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Known to most as Ralph, he is survived by his loving wife, Reva Hammond; his brothers, Tony and Jesse; his children, Ray (Bobbi), Stella Haller (Rex), Phil, Mike (Sandy), and Jeff (Meredith); his stepchildren, Molly and Larry; twelve grandchildren; eleven step-grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and fourteen step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Roberta Nichols; his grandson, Jeffery; and his stepchildren, Sherry and Timothy.

 Ralph proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After his military service, he held various jobs before moving to West Carrollton, Ohio, where he raised his family and worked at General Motors for 31 years. He gave back to his community by serving with the West Carrollton Fire Department as a firefighter and paramedic, where he formed many lifelong friendships. Ralph was a Freemason, enjoyed coaching baseball, was an avid bowler, and loved golfing. He attended church regularly until he could no longer drive. He was admired for his remarkable memory and detailed storytelling, which brought joy to many. Ralph also maintained close relationships with his nephews and many cousins, all of whom loved him dearly.

Ralph donated his body to Wright State University. He will be deeply missed. Military Honors conducted by the Combined Honor Guard and a Celebration of Life will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 01, 2026, at the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  (2 hours prior) to service on Sunday at the funeral home.
