George Walter Schram, age 88 of West Carrollton, formerly of Warrenton Georgia, slipped away into his eternal resting place on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, surrounded by his loving family. He was born om March 27, 1935, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Lavern & Vera (Jenkins) Schram.
Having grown up in the surrounding Dayton areas he was a graduate of New Lebanon High School through Patterson Co-op. George honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After returning he worked at McCall’s in Dayton until they closed; he then moved to Georgia where he retired as a printer. There he married his late wife Sue P. Schram.
Preceded in death by his wife Sue P. Schram, by his sister Marilyn Tims, and other dearly departed family.
He is survived by his loving children Tim Schram & Jeff (Jacqueline) Schram, Melissa (Mark) Fields, and his brother Dale Schram. He leaves behind his grandchildren Timmy (Amber) Schram, Geoff (Christy) Schram, Todd (Rachel) Schram, Breanna (Christian) Fields, Ora (Taylor) Fields, Johnathan (Heather) Schram and Joelle (Brandon) Haun, his great grandchildren.
Mr. George loved his family and many of his friends that were like family to him. He left behind in Georgia his best “Buddy” dog, and lots of very close friends. He has a love for antiques and going out to eat!
A Graveside Service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Evergreen Cemetery, 401 N. Miami Ave., West Carrollton with Military Honors Conducted by the Combined Honor Guard. Arrangements entrusted to the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton.
