Gary Dean Richards

 Gary D. Richards, age 80 of Moraine, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 25, 2022, at his home. He was born on December 4, 1941, in Jackson, Ohio, the son of the late Harold T. & Goldie M. (Schroder) Richards.

Mr. Richards was a former Insurance Agent, a Delivery Driver, and Route Manager for Tastee Bread Co., for 10 years, the Owner and Operator of GD & R Construction for 25 years, a Project Manager for Pittsburg Des Moines Steel Co for 5 years and he was a retired Foreman for American Trademark Construction Service with 22 years of service. Gary lived out his love for Jesus Christ in many ways, from starting a bus ministry with his wife at the West Carrollton Assembly of God, where he also taught Sunday School and was a Deacon. He was also an active member of Southbrook Christian Church and was active on the First Impressions Team at Southbrook.

Preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years Betty L. (Harmon) Richards, and by his brother Donald Richards.

He is survived by his 3 loving daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn & Chris Wheeler, Shelby & Rick Barnes, and Terri & Johnie Wendling, his 2 brothers Edward Richards and wife Patricia, Jack Richards and wife Pamela, 10 grandchildren Nathan (Kelly), Jonathan (Cherie), Amber (Brinson), Brandon, Jaece (Brittany), Andrea (Kory), Zachary, Daryl, Blake & Katie, 13 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Family was everything to Gary. He loved to bake, especially Red Velvet Cake and homemade pies. He always made time to care and listen to his family and always celebrated their accomplishments. He loved attending sporting events and other activities with the love of his life Betty , his daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 1, 2022, at the Southbrook Christian Church, (Reverie Chapel), 9095 Washington Church Rd., Miamisburg with Pastor Charlie McMahan officiating. Burial Miami Valley Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at the Southbrook Christian Church (Reverie Chapel). Arrangements entrusted to the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton.
