Ronnie wrote this for me in 1988 – Bernice VonRoeder

On whose hands once soft

and tender

grow callous hard

with toil?

And whose brow

once fair and

mild grow lines

of age and worry?

And on whose shoulders

once proud

when young lies heavy

the faint name of Mother.

Your tender soul grown tired with pain

whose lap held the hearts

of children as they

cried their tears of hurt

and ran away to play.

I, your son with humble

sorrow too late too

realized the loss

Of you, my

Mother.

I knew your love better

 than others

And I was seldom good

 I brought tears

to your eyes with deeds

 and haughty words

But age has brought

 a remembrance

of all that you have

done, and if you can still

still forgive me

Mother

accept this Love from your son.
