Allen Lee Vann, age 83 of Miamisburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton. He was born on July 19, 1939, in Knoxville, Tennessee, the son of the late Elmer & Mary (Loveday) Vann.
Mr. Vann honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy. Allen was a retired Millwright with General Motors with over 31 years of service.
Preceded in death by his sister Judy “Jeri” Orndorf and by his 2 brothers-in-law Ronald Ordorf and Walter Harris.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Brenda J. (Lucas) Vann, his son Gary Allen Vann and wife Shannon, his sister Patricia Harris, 4 grandchildren Abigail Vann, Colton Vann, Jenna Hart and Mia Harris, his great granddaughter Juliette, special cousin Melvin Isham and wife Pat, 4 nieces Darla McClain and husband Rob, Cathy Maris and husband Scott, Debbie Camacho and husband Dennis, and Tonya Collins and husband Chester, 2 nephews Michael Anspach and wife Beth, and Greg Anspach, as well as numerous other family members and friends.
At Allen’s request no services will be held. Arrangements entrusted to the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation , 695 Lincoln Park Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45429 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6077 Far Hills Ave., Ste 117, Dayton, Ohio 45459 in memory of Allen.
