Simpson, William R. (Bill) entered into final rest on June 16, 2014. William was known as Bill to his friends and Roscoe to his family. He was born on January 15, 1917 in Dayton, Ohio. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and attended classes at the University of Dayton. He had been retired from Delco Products for nearly 40 years. He began his career at Delco as a production worker and from there was promoted to toolmaker and then process engineering. He retired as a Senior Engineer, machine-tool-die, in the process engineering department. He is survived by his wife Alice, daughter Saundra, and 3 grandchildren, Tara Novell, Karin Vega, and Laura Price. He will be missed greatly by his Yorkie "Amy". He was preceded in death by his son C. William Simpson, parents William and Ellen, 2 brothers Edgar and Carl, and sister Genevieve. Bill and Alice were married on July 2nd 1938 in Miamisburg, Ohio and were about 2 weeks shy of their 76th wedding anniversary. They wintered in Bonita Springs, Florida for more than 25 years, returning to the Dayton area full time in 2004. Bill was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed fishing and bowling in his younger years. He loved the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals and of course Ohio State football. He was very proud of the roses that he tended around his house. Inurnment will be at Woodland Cemetery.
