Obituary

Virginia L. “Ginny” Lowman, age 100 of Dayton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Walnut Creek Nursing Center, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on September 3, 1925, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Grover & Marie (Catterlin) Eckhart.

Mrs. Lowman was a retired employee of NCR, and a former employee of the West Carrollton License Bureau and the Stamper Boat House. Ginny was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church and sang in the choir. She also enjoyed dancing, singing in the orchestra, and singing on the “Wing” radio station.

Preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years Fred Russell Lowman, Sr., on November 28, 2005, and by her daughter Ginger Fowler on May 28, 2009, her sisters Irene Hensley, Ellen Mann, and Dorothy Jean Franklin, and by her sons-in-law Pat Carney and Ed Fowler.

She is survived by her loving children Fred Lowman, Jr., and wife Marty, Tim Lowman and wife Peggy, Vicky Carney, and Jerry Lowman and wife Beckie, 13 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Graveside Service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the Sugar Grove Cemetery in West Alexandria, Ohio.
