Gatts, Thomas Ray, age 86 of West Carrollton, passed away June 13, 2015 at Sycamore Hospital. He was born October 8, 1928 in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Ersel L. & Amy Lee Gatts. He was preceded in death by his first wife Gloria F. Gatts in 1984, his sisters Virginia (Robert) Lambert, Ruth (Lloyd) Kress. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Mary Ann, his daughter Debria Gatts, his son Eddie Gatts, grandchildren Monika, Gloria Nicole, Kelly Rae, Christopher, great grandchildren Stephanie, Alec, Rhys, Lukas and Jakob. Ray was a graduate of Centerville High School Class of 1944, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. While attending Miami University he was recruited to play professional baseball in the minor leagues for 4 years with the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Braves. The House of David semi pro ball club recruited Ray as their manager to barnstorm with Satchel Paige and the Globe Trotters cross country. Ray loved his baseball, he was the owner of Gatts Plumbing Company for 33 years, was inducted into the Dayton Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame in 1974. One of his proudest moments was being inducted into Centerville High School Hall of Fame in 2004. Ray touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank all of Ray's wonderful family and friends who stood by him during his illness over the last 12 years. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 12 NOON at the SWART & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, West Carrollton. Burial Centerville Cemetery.
