Thelma J. Garrett, age 88 of Miamisburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Miami Valley Hospital – Main Campus, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 3, 1934, in Caryville, TN, the daughter of the late Daniel "Dan" & Nellie F. (Brogans) Hatmaker.
Preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Randell M. Garrett on Oct. 24, 1994, 6 sisters Tildy, Ellen, Hester Mae, and Mary Magaline Hatmaker, Juanita Ledford and Wilma Hall, 2 brothers Edward & Roy Hatmaker, 1 niece and 3 nephews.
She is survived by her daughter Rhonda F. Hausfeld and husband Joe, her son Timothy R. Garrett, her sister Betty Onderko, 4 grandchildren Lisa Howell and husband James, Kristen Garrett and fiancé Justin Barton, Megan Hausfeld and boyfriend Jacob Lower & Caitlin Hausfeld, 5 great grandchildren Andrew Garrett, Nevaeh, Elijah, & Sean Manning and Bryson McCreary, special friends Burnis Bolton, Della Strong, and Stella Robinson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022, at the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton with Pastor Wayne Woody officiating. Burial Hillgrove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Clista H., Molly C., Mark of Respiratory, Dr. Mark Oxman, Dr. Gabriel Hays and Dr. Steven Chambers of the Neurological ICU Unit at Miami Valley Hospital for their extraordinary care and kindness to Mrs. Garrett and her family.
