Ruth E. Johnson Hicks, age 102 of Dayton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on May 14, 1924, in West Carrollton, Ohio, the daughter of the late James D. & Pauline (Fink) Oberer.

Mrs. Johnson Hicks was retired employee of Monsanto Mound Lab after 23 years of dedicated service. She was a faithful member of the Victory Hill Baptist Church, a member of the Wheeler Dealer Square Dance Club, and the Moraine Senior Citizens Center.

Preceded in death by her first husband George Johnson on May 26, 2005.

She is survived by her loving husband Ronald Hicks, her son Larry Johnson and wife Sharry, her step-children Barbara Brock, Ron Hicks and wife Judy, Kenny Hicks and wife Rebecca, Melanie Henness and husband Doug, Charlie Patton, and Mark Patton (Denise), her granddaughter Hilary, her dear friend Debbie Hardy, as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026, at the Miami Valley Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Pastor Dick Harrelson officiating.
