Phillip D. Howard, age 81 of Huber Heights, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 12, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Dolpha & Agnes (Pelphrey) Howard.

Phil graduated from the West Carrollton High School, Class of 1960. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, enlisting on May 16, 1962, and separating on October 3, 1966. He was a man who loved the Lord. Phil enjoyed spending time with his family, talking to everyone, listening to music, and watching old movies.

Preceded in death by his wife Marian H. "Kay" Howard on Dec. 1, 2019, his granddaughter Rachel Borders on Jan. 7, 2004, his brother David L. Howard, sister-in-law Sue Howard, sister-in-law Janet (nee Hussey) Bowman, and brother-in-law David Bowman, parents Dolpha and Agnes (Pelphrey) Howard, parent-in-laws Robert A. and Ruth (Haines) Hussey,

He is survived by his loving children Krista and husband Ron Hoctor, Stephen "Scott" and wife Ale Howard, Esther and husband Paul Borders, Phillip Brent and wife Holly Howard, and Gloria and husband Justin Lehmann, brother Larry Howard and wife Pat; grandchildren Kyle and wife Emily, Leyla, Daley, Juan, Fernando, Grace, Hannah Ruth, Ella, Bradley, Nathan, Brooke, Tyler, Hannah Joy, Hope, Faith, Abigail, Daniel, Ben, Thomas, Mercy, Somerset, and Lance; great-grandchildren twins Easton and Jace.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 12, 2024, at the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton with Pastor Phillip Brent Howard officiating. Burial Evergreen Cemetery with Military Honors Conducted by the Combined Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at the funeral home.
