Buckingham, Patricia Jean, 89, of West Carrollton, Ohio, passed away Jan. 17, 2017. She was born Oct. 14, 1927, the daughter of Walter and Ruth Shade, she graduated from Otterbein College in 1949 and married Robert L. Buckingham on Sept. 9, 1950.  She is predeceased by her brother, Henry Shade; husband, Robert; and daughter, Pamela. She is survived by her daughter, Paula LaRue (Rich); granddaughters Katherine Humphreys, Roberta Johnston (Sears); two great-grandsons, Milo and Toby Johnston, and many nieces and nephews.

Pat was actively involved in her community by volunteering in schools, assisting the church pantry, and being a Girl Scout leader. She was a long-time member of Epiphany and Grace Lutheran Church.  Her expertise in antiques benefited St. Francis and the Once Around Thrift Shops.  She enjoyed repairing old things, playing cards, and spending time in Bear Lake, Michigan.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from the SWART & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, West Carrollton, with Rev. Jay Shailer officiating. Burial Evergreen Cemetery.
