Childress, Nova, age 87 of Kettering, Ohio and Cape Coral, FL, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 7, 2016 at Hope Hospice in Ft. Myers, FL. She was born November 18, 1929 in Seitz, KY, to the late Oscar & Myrtle (Patrick) Back. Preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Albert L. Childress. Nova was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, painting, ceramics, and decorating for the holidays. She was a very artistic and creative woman who had a green thumb for gardening and she loved her Yorkie. Survived by her 3 children Leonard Childress (Tami) of Miamisburg, Beverly Simonds (Don Cornett) of Cape Coral, FL, Jennifer McClure (Larry Combs) of Miamisburg, 4 grandchildren Ryan & Ashley McClure of OH, Harland & Christopher Simonds of FL, 3 great grandchildren, 3 sisters and 2 brothers Vee Layman (Glenn), Gathel Miller, Pansy Hatton (Wendel), Richard Back (Edith), Ranzel Back (Liz), and many nieces, nephews, and extended family that loved her dearly. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the SWART & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, West Carrollton.  Burial Trissel Cemetery.
