Michael Shad Hiram “Mikey” Slaton, age 53 of Moraine, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026, at his home. He was born on June 17, 1973, in Kettering, Ohio.

Mike spent 20 years working as a welder. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, bowling, riding his bike, cheering on Notre Dame Football, and following the Cincinnati Bengals.

Preceded in death by his father Raymond Slaton on April 14, 2020, and by his sister Robin Callahan on August 18, 2021, his cousin Robert L. “Robbie” Evans and by his brother-in-law John Johnston.

Mike will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Claretta S. (Durham) Slaton; his children, Donovan Slaton, Kori Rae Penland and husband Josh, and Nova Rae Slaton; his sisters, Tonya Johnston and Susan Collins and husband Jay; his brothers, Todd Slaton and wife Heather, and Bobby Slaton and wife Shannon; his grandchildren, Jameson and Benny Penland; his beloved fur babies, “Sugar” and “Olivia”; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton with Mr. Ben Slaton officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in West Carrollton. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (1 hour prior to service) on Saturday at the funeral home.
