Vanderveld, Mary Elinor (Kelchner), age 90 of Xenia, went to be with Jesus on Friday, December 28, 2012. She was born April 22, 1922 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Archer & Mary (Ewing) Kelchner. Mary was a lover of music and singing, she also loved animals, spending much of her time watching the birds and squirrels out her window. Preceded in death by 2 brothers Lawrence & Ivan Kelchner, sons-in-law Grayson "Ted" Koogler, and Jerry McCoy, and a grandson Jeremy Johnson. Mary is survived by 4 children Connie McCoy, Barbara Koogler, Gary Johnson, and Douglas Johnson, her brother Raymond Kelchner (Margaret), 2 sisters Vera Miller (Jack), Doris Carter (Don), 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and her first great great grandchild due in January. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church, 204 E. Market Street, Xenia, Ohio 45385 with Rev. Ronald Swiger officiating. Burial Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
