Counts, Margaret L., "Granny", age 89, of West Carrollton, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013. She was born November 10, 1923 in Max Meadows, VA, the daughter of the late Dewey & Annie (Hale) Collins. Granny attended the West Carrollton Church of the Nazarene, and was retired from Daytex Fabrics. Preceded in death by her husband Hazle G. "Pap" Counts, 3 brothers, a sister, and a grandson Joseph Shepherd. Survived by her daughter Jean Chapman (Tim) of West Carrollton, Barbara Shepherd-Smith (Myron) of West Carrollton, her son Bob Counts (Cherry Babb) of Mayfield, KY, 2 sisters Bonnie Nichols of Beavercreek, Betty Carter of VA, 4 grandchildren Rhonda Blackburn, Jason Counts, Andy Shepherd, Lori Giron, 7 great grandchildren, a great great granddaughter, numerous step-grand and great grandchildren, as well as a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. from the SWART & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, West Carrollton, with Rev. David Schooler officiating. Burial Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. If desired memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in her memory.
