Hitchcock, M. Marvelene, age 86 of West Carrollton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Hospice of Dayton surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on November 22, 1931 in Edgar, KY, the daughter of the late Margie (Harless) Lafferty Wiseman & Floyd Lafferty.
Mrs. Hitchcock was a former employee of Monarch Marking in the Credit/Collection Dept. with 15 years of service. She was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church, serving as a Deaconess, a philanthropist assisting in fundraisers for numerous organizations including: United Way, and the Cancer Society, and she was an avid softball player and a phenomenal cook! Mrs. Hitchcock was a proud Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother; she was known to be the sweetest woman and the strongest person. She will be greatly missed and eternally loved by her family & friends.
Preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Paul Hitchcock, Jr., son Paul L. Hitchcock,daughter Karen T. Hitchcock Houseman, and her sister Thelma Bingham.
She is survived by her son George Hitchcock and wife Julie, daughter Mary Hitchcock Landdeck and husband Andrew, daughter-in-law Debbie Hitchcock, sister Patricia Caris, sister-in-law Sally Nauman and husband Ron, brother-in-law Robert Stark, 10 grandchildren; Lisa, Michael, Heather, Ryan, Ashley, Jessica, Jessica, Matthew, Marisa and Grace, 9 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Central Presbyterian Church, 4699 Lamme Rd., Moraine, Ohio 45439 with Pastor Cliff Haddox officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church. A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 01, 2018 at the Davids Cemetery. Funeral procession will leave from the Swart Funeral Home to the Graveside at 9:30 a.m. on Monday. Arrangements entrusted to the SWART FUNERAL HOME, West Carrollton. www.swartfuneralhome.com . If so desired memorial contributions may be made to Kettering Medical Center, 3535 Southern Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45429 in Mrs. Hitchcock's memory.
