Abel, Sr., Lewis W., age 82 of Fountain City, Indiana, formerly of West Carrollton, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015. He was born September 13, 1933 in Tiffin, Ohio, the son of the late Hubert & Goldie (Renninger) Abel. Lewis retired from Ohio Bell in 1991, honorably served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Air Force, and was a member of the American Legion Post 65 in Indiana. Preceded in death by his wife Helen Lenor Abel in 1992. He is survived by his daughter Kathy S. Lakes (Mike) of Vincennes, Indiana, 2 sons Lewis W. Abel, Jr., of Cincinnati, Robert K. Abel of Fountain City, Indiana, 4 brothers Hubert Abel (Doris) of Columbus, Kenneth Abel (Donna) of GA, Jack Abel (Nancy) of Enon, James Abel (Barb) of FL, 4 sisters Helen Ferguson of Tiffin, Charlotte Hartzell of Columbus, Carole Fleming (Larry) of Sandusky, Patricia Reiderman (Andrew) of Willard, Ohio, 2 granddaughters Dawn Harris (Jason) of Indiana, Trisha Hiney (Mark) of Miamisburg, 7 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in Miamisburg.
