Kevin John McPartland, age 77, of Dayton passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 3, 1949, in Rockville Center, NY, the son of the late Eugene & Helen (McSweeney) McPartland.

Kevin was a retired employee of Dayton Power & Light and Vectren with over 45 years of service. He was raised in the Catholic Church and attended the Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church with his wife. Kevin was a devoted husband & role model for his entire family. He was the most caring, selfless person with infinite patience any of us have ever known. He could use his sharpest mind and his quiet intelligence not only to be a financial mentor to all, but with his timely Irish wit and sense of humor, he lightened up any challenging situation. His level of commitment was an inspiration to the younger generations of his family. Kevin was an avid reader, prolific gardener, enjoyed a good German beer and relished precious moments of silence.

He is preceded in death by the mother of his daughter Sarah (Long) McPartland Bean, his stepson Carl Gross, his sister-in-law Juli Swartz Baker and his father-in-law William Swartz.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Jenifer (Swartz) McPartland, his daughter Elizabeth McPartland Jacomet and husband Andrew, his stepson Christofer Gross and wife Lisa, his three sisters Jeanne McPartland-Keenan and husband Peter, Eileen Petrillo and husband Richard, and Christine McPartland, his two grandchildren Lauren Jacomet and Aidan Jacomet, his two step grandchildren Alexandrea Ahart and Victoria Gross, his mother-in-law Evelyn Swartz-Sauer, his good friend Mike Kobes, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 7pm on Wednesday, January 21st at Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton with Rev. Gregory J. Konerman officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (2 hours prior to service) on Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton in memory of Mr. Kevin J. McPartland.
