Joshua A. "Josh" Schmidt, age 34 of Dayton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Kettering Medical Center.

He was born on August 7, 1986 in Dayton, Ohio. Josh played baseball when he was a child, and loved to bowl! He would watch cartoons, play his Wii bowling and listen to music on his headphones all at the same time. He especially loved to be with his family and friends.

Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents James A. Sr. & Loretta Schmidt, his aunt Angela Owens, and by his cousin Brian "Shorty" Moffitt.

He is survived by his father James A. "Jim" Schmidt, Jr., his brother Christopher Schmidt, aunt Glenda Lindsey and husband Ben, 6 cousins Brandon Moffitt, Madison Lindsey, Cameron Lindsey, Breanna Owens, Dalton Owens and Dakota Owens, as well as numerous other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 2, 2021 at the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton with Pastor Shawn Watson officiating. Burial Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (2 hours prior to service) at the funeral home on Friday.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
