Obituary

Joseph C. "Joe" Adkins, age 65 of Ft. Myers, Florida, formerly of West Carrollton, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 2, 2024, at his home. He was born on March 5, 1959, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Jacquelyn "Jackie" (Duncan) Bowman and Richard Adkins.

Joe was the former owner and operator of The Print Center with over 20 years of service to the Dayton area. He was an avid outdoorsman and adventure-seeker who loved fishing, biking, snow skiing, golfing, and boating. He cherished his annual summer pilgrimage to the family cottage in Grand Marais on the shores of Lake Superior and loved traveling out west with family and friends to visit the Colorado mountains and California beaches. He had a lighthearted spirit, quick wit, and a huge personality who never met a stranger. Every person in the world, to him, was just a friend he hadn't met yet.

Joe was a loyal, lifelong fan of Notre Dame and Ohio State football, and could often be found listening to music, especially The Beatles. But above all else, Joe's greatest pride and joy was his family and the time he spent with them, especially his two children. His absence leaves a gaping void in the hearts of many, but we hold faith that they will be restored by his departing love and memory.

Joe is lovingly remembered and profoundly missed by his loving children Alexandra "Ali" Adkins and fiancé James Hesburgh, and Adam Adkins, his two brothers Terry Adkins (Kim), Jim Adkins (Christina), his two sisters Susan Bavaro (Joe), and Julie Adkins, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
