Jennifer M. Smith, age 50 of Miamisburg, passed peacefully at her sunset Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Miami Valley Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Her sunrise was August 3, 1975, in Elbridge, New York. She was the daughter of the late Karen Lynn Mclauglin and Ricky Pitts.

Jennifer was most proud of being a “Memaw” to her twin granddaughters, and she carried that same nurturing spirit into every part of her life. She enjoyed crafting, repurposing furniture, making ornaments, and making repairs herself on anything that was needed, always finding a way to make something better, more beautiful, or more useful. Above all, she cherished time with family and friends. Jennifer lit up a room with laughter and joy; she never met a stranger, and she had a way of making people feel safe, seen, and cared for—truly everyone’s second Mom and affectionally known as “Momma Jen”.

Jennifer was an LPN for over 18 years —bringing compassionate care wherever she was needed. Those who worked alongside her knew they could count on Jennifer: she showed up, she advocated, and she treated people with the dignity she believed everyone deserved.

She is survived by her loving daughters Kaseylynn (Smith) Benson and husband Dain, Megan (Smith) Ernst and husband Tyler, and Lauren Smith, her husband Kevin Smith, her twin granddaughters Skylar Lynn & Scarlett Nicole Ernst, her grandson on the way, Asher Justin Ray Ernst, her best friend Megan Adkins, as well as other family members and many friends.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026, at the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton.
