Howard Thomas "Tom" Terry, age 87 of West Carrollton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton. He was born on February 17, 1937, in Braymer, Missouri, the son of the late Mary Belle (Thomas) & Howard Terry.

Mr. Terry honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy retiring as Master Chief of the U.S. Navy after 12 years of Active Duty, and 9 years as Active Reserve. He was a retired Customer Service Engineer with IBM with 25 years of service, and a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Irene (Moffat) Terry, his 2 children Catherine "Cathy" Schaefer & William "Bill" Terry and wife Julia, his 2 brothers Richard Terry & Michael Terry and wife Sue, his 4 grandchildren Andrew Schaefer, Allison Terry, Kayla Terry and Mitchell Terry, as well as other relatives and many friends.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024, at the Dayton National Cemetery with Pastor Jeremiah Lewis officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton.
