Nidiffer, Herbert Dwight, age 85 of Kettering, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born on August 10, 1932 in Tribbey, KY, the son of the late John R. & Lissie Margaret (Blankenship) Nidiffer. Mr. Nidiffer was a retired Teacher with the Northridge School System, he honorably served his country in the U.S. Army; a member of the American Legion Post #598, Kettering, American Legion Post #1493, Lexington, KY; a member of the Korean War Veterans Association & Blue Star Mothers of American, MVC #3. Preceded in death by his wife Priscilla A. Nidiffer, his daughter Margaret Cole-Sierschula, 4 brothers Harry, Stanley, George, Jack Nidiffer & by 2 sisters Grace Marsh & Regina Nemeth. He is survived by 2 daughters Vickie Thompson & Connie Pickrel and husband Jim, son Butch Thompson, son-in-law Steve Sierschula, 1 brother Carl Nidiffer and wife Dinah, 2 sisters Jenny Wilson and husband Don, Juanita Hurt, sister-in-law Pauline Nidiffer, brother-in-law Paul J. Throckmorton and wife Mildred, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, as well as numerous other family members and many friends.  The family would like to express a special thank you to the caregivers & friends of the Carlyle House. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the SWART & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, West Carrollton with Pastor Greg Jackson officiating. Burial Evergreen Cemetery.
