Gwendolyn K. “Gwen” Harner, age 64 of West Carrollton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Kettering Health – Main Campus. She was born on September 9, 1961, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Herschel & Lois Jean (Cornett) Harner.

Gwendolyn honorably served her country in the United States Navy, a reflection of her strength and devotion. She later continued her pursuit of knowledge by earning her master’s degree. Gwen went on to dedicate many years of compassionate service as a physician assistant at the V.A. Medical Center. She also found comfort and community as a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church.

Preceded in death by her brother Daniel Brown.

She is lovingly remembered by her cousins Sherri Crowe and her husband Martin, and Janice Harner, her sister Phyllis Gilworth, her dear friend Karen Scott, and many other relatives and friends whose lives were touched by her kindness.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at the Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West Third St., Dayton, Ohio 45417 with Military Honors and Rev. Dr. Joel Getts officiating.
