Gilbert R. Hendricks, age 87 of West Carrollton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Kettering Medical Center – Main Campus. He was born on August 27, 1934, in Nelson, Kentucky, the son of the late James H. & Edeth (Woodruff) Hendricks.

Mr. Hendricks honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired Sheet Metal Worker for Local #224 in Dayton with over 30 years of service. He was a faithful member of Moraine Heights Baptist Church and loved caring for his cats.

Preceded in death by his wife Norma Lee (Rickey) Hendricks, his second wife Ruby Snyder-Hendricks, 2 brothers Bill Hendricks and Jim Hendricks, his sister Jeannie Fleenor, and by his brother-in-law Earl Rickey.

He is survived by his loving children Vicky Hendricks & Brian Hendricks and wife Suzanne, his 2 granddaughters A. Lynn and Andrea N. Schenck, his sister-in-law Doris Rickey, stepson James Snyder, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at the Moraine Heights Baptist Church, 5661 Munger Rd., Dayton, with Dr. Terrell Hudson & Pastor Patrick Dell'Aria officiating. Burial Evergreen Cemetery with Full Military Honors conducted by the Combined Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the church.
