Steele, Gertrude Harlena "Billie", age 99 of Xenia, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2012. She was born October 30, 1913 in Galion, Ohio, the daughter of the late Lando & Mamie (Long) Dunno. She was a Registered Nurse with the V.A. Medical Center retiring in 1975 as the Supervisor of Surgical Nurses, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of West Carrollton. Preceded in death by her daughter Nancy Huesman in 2011, a grandson Michael Steele in 2001, and 3 sisters Mittie Helman, Ruth Menge, and Mary Lauber. Survivors include her son Lando F. Steele and wife Nancy of Xenia, 5 grandchildren David Huesman and wife Andrea, Kay Ferguson and husband Chuck, Andrew Huesman and wife Kathryn, Tracy Sexton, Lando L. Steele, numerous great grandchildren, a great great granddaughter, and a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from the SWART & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, West Carrollton with Rev. Kathy Horne officiating. Burial Evergreen Cemetery. The family receive friends on Thursday one hour prior to the service.
