Ervin G. "Gene" Leiwig, Jr., age 70 of Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 27, 1954, in Dayton, Ohio the son of the late Beatrice (Rice) and Ervin G. "Gene" Leiwig, Sr.

Gene was a retired employee in the Dairy Department for Kroger with over 30 years of service. He was a Supervisor Usher for the U.D. Arena and the Dragon's Stadium and worked Security for the Fraze Pavillion during all of their events and concerts. He is an avid fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats, Cincinnati Bengals, and Ohio State Football. Gene loved collecting anything with the Kentucky Wildcats, Coca Cola items, and Bengals paraphernalia.

He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years Deborah J. "Debbie "Leiwig, his children Cara Taylor and husband Joshua, Tracy Owens and husband Claude, Rebecca Brumfield and husband Trevor, Zachary Moser and Elizabeth McKibben, his brother Timothy Leiwig and wife Darlene, 7 grandchildren Tessa Cvetkovich and husband Josh, Curtis Volk, Eathan Taylor, Isolde Owens, Elwynn Owens, Clayton Brumfield and Samuel Brumfield, great grandchild Eastyn Cvetkovich, and 1 great granddaughter on the way, his father-in-law Ken Galyon and wife Tammy, and his mother-in-law Terry Kennedy, as well as numerous other family members and many friends.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Miami Valley Memory Gardens, 1639 E. Lytle Five Points Rd., Centerville, Ohio 45458. If so desired memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, 1661 Nicholas Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45417 in memory of Mr. Gene Leiwig, Jr.
