Emma Lou Johnson, age 92 of West Carrollton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 26, 2026, at Kettering Health – Miamisburg, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on November 12, 1933, in Harlan County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Edmon & Mary (Nolan) Cecil.

Emma Lou was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church of West Carrollton, where she also served as secretary. Over the years, she worked as a Mary Kay consultant and was formerly employed by Elder-Beerman. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she treasured the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also found joy in dancing with Kettering Kickers Line Dancing; traveling and she was the biggest fan of the Cincinnati Reds.

Preceded in death by her husband Edsel Johnson on April 10, 1985, and by her sister Aileen Ewald (spelling).

She is survived by her loving children, Patty Musgove, Cindy Bolden and husband Rick, Michael Johnson and wife Wendi, and Carol Grubb and husband Dannie; her eight grandchildren, Amanda Marsh and husband Evan, Philip Kelley and wife Rita, Jordan Kelley and wife Stephanie, Ashley Gillikin and husband Doug, Adam Bolden and wife Jordan, Taylor Johnson, Jake Grubb, and Jesse Grubb; her fourteen great-grandchildren, Ryan, Peyton, Delaney, Lyanna, Blake, Peri, Drew, Beckam, Reighn, Noah, Colin, Tessa, Reverie, and Paisley; dear friends, Mona, Nadine, Naomi, and Peggy; as well as her church family, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at First Baptist Church of West Carrollton 705 S. Elm St., West Carrollton with Pastor Scott Wells officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (1 ½ prior to service) at the church on Thursday.
