Scothorn, Edna M., age 88 of Dayton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at the Brighton Gardens. She was born November 4, 1924 in Delaware City, Indiana, the daughter of the late Cory A. & Mary (Elliott) Sayre. Edna loved her job and was retired from the Montgomery County Probate Court as a Bookkeeper, was a very proud and loving mother and grandmother and had made many friends at the Brighton Gardens where she was a proud resident. Preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Charles F. Scothorn in 2006, a great granddaughter Kelsey Sue Scothorn, and a great grandson Bryan Lee King, Jr. Survivors include her 4 sons Jim & Linda Scothorn of TN, Marvin Scothorn of Dayton, Steve & Jill Scothorn of Brookville, Mike & Wendy Scothorn of Dayton, her daughter Patty & Joe Lucas of West Carrollton, 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Services will be held for the family at the Miami Valley Memory Gardens Chapel with Rev. Cliff Haddox officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the SWART & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, West Carrollton.
