Delmus M. “Dale” Hall, age 85-year-old of Clearfield Utah. He let go of his rope that held him Earthbound at Mount Ogden Nursing Home on September 3, 2026.

He was born on April 17, 1941, in Powell, Kentucky, the son of the late Otha William and Lila (Bishop) Hall.

Dale had a gift for working on automobiles and spent time driving a tow truck. He often fondly remembered building race car #34 with Clyde, a project that brought them both great joy and many shared laughs. Dale also enjoyed fishing, loved animals, and liked exploring caves in Utah. Above all, he deeply loved his brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his son Bobby Dale Hall, his sister Delitha M. Carr, Judy K. Hall, Bea Jones and Faye Watkins, his brothers Leonard Jr. Hall and Alvin Clyde Hall.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Louise (Perkins) Hall, and family; his sister, Eunice Gail Hall; his brothers, Wendell “Red” Hall and wife Michelle, Arthur Hall and wife Sue, and Alton Hall and wife Nanette; his sister-in-law, Kelly Hall; his daughter, Lisa Cartil and husband Scott; Tammy Atkins and husband Billy; Hope Hall; his sons, David Laycock and Josh Hall and wife Becky Jo; his grandchildren; his beloved fur baby, “LD”; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Canterbury Court (Canterbury Room, Located on the 1st Floor), 450 N. Elm St., West Carrollton, Ohio 45449. Arrangements entrusted to the Independent Funeral Home in Salt Lake City, Utah.

When Dale was 17 years old, he borrowed his daddy’s truck to take his girlfriend to church. His daddy reminded him to be careful with it, and not to wreck the truck. Dale picked her up, and they went to church that evening. After the service, Dale returned home by himself, as the young woman had decided to spend more time with the preacher.

Dale once had a bee’s nest on his porch that needed to be moved. He went inside and put hot sauce on his fingers, then returned to the porch and held his hand near the hive. When the bees came out and tasted the hot sauce, they began flying away from the porch. With the bees safely moving on, Dale was able to take down the nest and place it behind the house in the weeds.

Dale had a special way with hummingbirds. He would go outside, hold out his hands, and the hummingbirds would come near, resting close enough for him to gently touch them.

One time, Dale held out his hand, and a robin came to him, allowing him to gently pat it. Some children nearby watched with wonder and wanted to pet the bird too. When they came up onto the porch and reached toward it, the robin flew away.
