Deborah A. “Debbie” Ellis, age 71 of Moraine, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 15, 1955, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ursula (Hopkins) and Lewis Deeter.
Debbie was a retired employee of the Dayton Daily News with 25 years of service, and a faithful member of the Miami Shores Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband Eddy G. Ellis on September 13, 2019.
She is survived by her 3 sons Eddy G. Ellis II and wife Misty, James Ellis and wife Tracy, Matthew Ellis and wife Regina, her daughter Michell Presley and husband Jeromy, her 4 brothers Daniel Deeter and wife Debbie Lynn, Donald Deeter and wife Akemi, Dennis Deeter, and Dean Deeter and wife Sharon, 10 grandchildren Kendyl Ellis (Zach Greene), Kirsten (Ellis) and husband Liam Stargel, Shelby Presley (Riley Yon), Dalton Ellis, Bryce Ellis, Wyatt Presley, Tyler Ellis, Eliza Ellis, Dylan Presley, and Hunter Ellis, 1 great grandson Johnathan Greene, and 1 great grandbaby on the way, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026, at the Miami Shores Baptist Church, 4000 Vance Rd., Moraine, Ohio. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in West Carrollton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the Miami Shores Baptist Church. Arrangements entrusted to the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton, Ohio.
If so desired memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton in memory of Mrs. Deborah A. “Debbie” Ellis.
