David W. "Dave" Barnett, age 65 of Centerville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Kettering Health Network – Main Campus. He was born on May 24, 1960, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Charles H. & Wanda L. (O'Grosky) Barnett.

Dave was a graduate of West Carrollton High School Class of 1978 and was former Heavy Equipment Operator with 45 years of service. He loved muscle cars, motorcycles, NASCAR, the Denver Broncos, all kinds of animals and classic 70's rock music.

He is survived by his son David T. Barnett, his brother Chris Barnett and wife Dawn, his 2 grandchildren Trenton Daniel Barnett and Charlie Elizabeth Barnett, his niece Kristen Barnett, his former wife Susan Ann,  his step-daughter Jessica Herring Muncy and husband Steven, his step-son Ryan Herring and wife Brandy, his best friend Don James, as well as other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton with Rev. Dr. Joel Getts officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. If so desired memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society (Head, Neck & Throat Cancer) in memory of Mr. David W. "Dave" Barnett.
