Shroyer, Dale Roy, age 78 of Miami Township, passed away on September 27, 2017. He was born on July 11, 1939 in Bellefontaine, OH, the son of the late Charles Shroyer & Katherine (Bidwell) Kelly. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy & the U.S. Army. Dale was known by the ones who knew him as the man who built Dayton. He was proud of the fact he was an iron worker for several years, building the tallest buildings in Dayton and the surrounding area. He later went to work for General Motors and retired in 1998 as a millwright. Preceded in death by his step-father Tom Kelly. He is survived by his loving wife Betty Lou Shroyer of 56 years whom he met at Sunshine Biscuit many years ago. He was a loving father to his daughter, Sherry Ann Shroyer, son Thomas Dale Shroyer and wife Melissa, 3 adoring grandchildren Brandy Nicole Audia, Dale Thomas Shroyer, and Kaitlin Darlene Shroyer, sister Nora Mae Carl, and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the SWART & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, West Carrollton with Pastor Steve Thornhill officiating. Burial at the Evergreen Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. www.swartandwolfefuneralhome.com.
