Nelson, Charlotte J., age 96 of Kettering, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 7, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born on February 11, 1921 in West Carrollton, the daughter of the late Earl & Jeannette (Schuder) Wonderly. Charlotte along with her husband Arnold John Nelson, Jr., operated the Union 76 Station in Oakwood. After Mr. Nelson's passing in 1977 she continued the business on her own until retiring in 1983. She was also a former book keeper of NCR & Rikes. Mrs. Nelson was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church of West Carrollton, XLW & Women's Circle at the church as well as the Southwestern Ohio Gasoline Dealers Association. She is survived by 2 daughters Deborah Meyer and husband Richard of Dayton, Karren Bernhardt and husband Jeffrey of Bellbrook, 4 grandchildren Christopher Meyer, Lori Marks and husband Michael, Jacquelyn Bernhardt, Jenna Fowler and husband Dante, great grandson Kamden Marks, as well as many friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Harvest Christian Fellowship, (formerly First Presbyterian Church of West Carrollton), 125 Wilson Park Dr., West Carrollton, with Rev. Mark Pierce officiating. Burial Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the SWART & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, West Carrollton. She will always be remembered for her positive & cheerful attitude and always being a child at heart.
