Waaland, Cedric "Bill", age 88 of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born March 22, 1926 in Findlay, OH, the son of the late Norman A. & Dorothy (Brearley) Waaland. Bill was a retired U.S. Government Contracting Officer with DESC with
30 + years of service and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy. Preceded in death by his wife Carol E. Waaland on December 23, 2010, 2 brothers Peter & James Waaland, & 2 sisters Dorothy Joan Yost & Norah Haley. He is survived by his son Eric Kim Waaland & wife Julie of Nashport, OH, his daughter Beth Heggeness & husband John of Reno, NV, his sister Shirley Tanilli & husband Victor of NJ, 4 grandchildren Erik Heggeness, Kelsey Heggeness, Kelen Waaland (Samantha) & Kasey Waaland, & friend Marilyn Langlois of West Carrollton. A reception will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bill's Home with memories shared starting at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
