Obituary

Carolyn Jean Ward, age 70 of Miamisburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Kettering Health Network – Main Campus, surrounded by her loving family.


She was born on January 14, 1955, Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Janice "Nannie" (Martin) and Carl A. Fugett.


Carolyn was a former employee of General Motors and a retired employee of Kroger with 15 years of service. She enjoyed camping (at the closest hotel possible) and spending time with her family and friends.


Preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 48 years, Gerald A. "Jerry" Ward on August 8, 2020, her sister-in-law Carrol Ward, her 2 fur babies "Zoey" and "Shotzey".


She is survived by her loving daughters: Keri Clark, Jeri "Sissy" Lynch and husband Willie, Robyn Campbell (Johnny), her sister Carlene McCullough and husband Ed, 8 grandchildren Shelby Clark (Gary), Amber Ward (Austin), Mason Ward, Jason "Bubby" Clark, Jr., (Hailey), Tyler Campbell, Whitney Heys (Cody), Shealeigh & Bristol Lynch, 13  great grandchildren Evelyn Jean, Emma Dale and Ensley Ann Neff, Lennox Michael Ward, Greyson Kash , Legend Kinglsey and Rosaliee Storm-Lynn Carter, Liam Allen & Riley Rayne Clark, Oaklyn Ty Campbell,  Annabelle Marie, Michael Gordon, Jr. & Onyx Hudson LaFaye, her brother-in-law Terry Ward, her 2 nieces Victoria George & Tammy Griffith,  her nephew Jason Ward, her 2 great nephews Hunter Ward & Zak Griffith (Abby), her great niece Tiffany Greene, her great great nieces and nephews, Nolan, Noah & Sienna Griffith and Kayden & Rayleigh Greene, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.


Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton with Rev. Dr. Joel Getts officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (2 hours prior to service) on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Dayton National Cemetery.
