Brashear, Carolyn E., age 77, of Dayton, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013. She was born on May 7, 1935 in Caribou, Maine, the daughter of the late Wilmer & Gertrude (DuMont) Todd. Carolyn was a former bus driver for West Carrollton City Schools, and worked for several years for the Dayton Daily News. Preceded in death by her daughter Coleen G. Brashear in 2011, and her former husband Marvin C. Brashear in 2004. Survivors include her son Daniel L. Brashear and wife Dr. Sandra Herrington of Lima, her brother Fred of MA, 3 sisters Diane of MA, Mary Lou of FL, Patricia of NC, 3 grandchildren Rebecca L. Hanson, Danielle N. Brashear, Eric T. Hanson, as well as Judith O'Hare and husband Norbert and family of Beavercreek. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. from the SWART & WOLFE FUNERAL HOME, West Carrollton. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. If desired memorial contributions may be made to the Easter Seals, United Cerebral Palsy, or Evercare Hospice in her memory.
