Bonnie Sue (Phelps) McNabb, age 83, of Centerville passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026. She was born on January 23, 1943, in Middletown, Ohio to the late Walter (Bud) and Louise (Smith) Phelps. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Jack McNabb and special aunt and uncle, Frank and Virginia (Smith) Mattox.

Bonnie was a 1961 graduate of Germantown High School. She received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Miami University in 1965 and a master’s degree in education from Xavier University in 1969.

Bonnie devoted her over 33-year education career to West Carrollton schools. She taught first grade and began the Title 1 reading program. She was awarded the Dickinson T. Guiler Award for Excellence in Education. She loved teaching and working with her students.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Hallie Kyle (Jason) Addington and her granddaughter, Avery Kendall, as well as numerous cousins, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Bonnie loved her family above all else. They were the light of her life. She was a devoted and proud wife, mother, and Mimi.

Bonnie was a member of David's United Church of Christ in Kettering. She loved reading on her front porch, spending time in Florida with her family, and traveling, especially visiting any college or university that was nearby. She was an avid Ohio State football fan and loved spending her Saturdays watching College Game Day (her favorite show). She also loved UD basketball and her Craft Club that spent decades making angels for Hospice.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the Evergreen Cemetery in West Carrollton with Rev. Dr. Tony Minear officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton.
