Barbara Faris, age 85 of Dayton passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Ashford of Beavercreek, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 12, 1941, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Delbert & Esther (Clauss) Bower.

Mrs. Faris devoted 20 years to Avery Dennison before her retirement. She was a cherished and faithful member of the Moraine City First Church of God. She especially treasured traveling to Israel, Las Vegas, and other destinations with her family and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband Donald N. Faris on May 2, 1995, her daughter Sherry Thomas, her brother Richard Bower, her sister-in-law Ann Bower, and by her companion Douglas “Doug” Dowden, Jan. 16, 2020.

Her memory will be lovingly cherished by her children, Ronald “Ron” Faris and wife Tina, Debbie Franer and husband Bill, and Rochelle “Shelley” Hamilton and husband Brett; her brother, Delbert Bower; her sister-in-law, Rose Bower; her 8 grandchildren, Jennifer Cotton and husband Tom, Zach Thomas and wife Kaila, Krystina Magruder, Jacob Magruder, Jessica Magruder (Cody Dean), Madison Hamilton, Aubrey Hamilton, and Brooklynn Faris; her 5 great-grandchildren; her beloved fur baby, “Lucky”; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2026, at the Moraine City First Church of God, 5867 N. Springboro Pike, Dayton, Ohio 45449, with Pastor Donald Curtis officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. (1 hour prior to service) on Friday at the church. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 16, 2026, at Elizaville Cemetery in Elizaville, Kentucky. Arrangements entrusted to Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton.
