Barbara M. “Maxine” Daugherty, age 91 of Moraine, entered into the Arms of Jesus peacefully on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Hillspring of Springboro, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on May 27, 1935, in Eubank, Kentucky, the daughter of the late John & Uva (Deatherage) Hines.
Mrs. Daugherty worked for many years with the Greater Dayton Baptist Association and later served as church administrator at Grace Baptist Church. Maxine was a faithful and cherished member of Grace Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her loving husband Enman “Mitch” Daugherty on August 13, 2015; her three brothers Mitt Prewitt, Darrell Hines and Doyal Hines; her three sisters Ella Mae Zeller, Pauline Hicks, and Phyllis Burton; and by her dear friend Doug Criswell.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children Randy Daugherty, Karen Begley and husband Larry, Terrie Hammons and husband Alan, Sherri Cline and husband Jeff, Anita Kocol, and Gary Daugherty and wife Kelly; 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren with 1 on the way, and 6 great great grandchildren with 1 on the way, her special lifelong friend Marie Middleton, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Grace Baptist Church, 851 S. Elm St., West Carrollton with Pastor Paul Hubbs officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 2 hours prior to service) on Tuesday at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton.
If so desired memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton in memory of Mrs. Barbara M. “Maxine” Daugherty.
