Barbara M. Brockman, 89, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away quietly and peacefully, surrounded by her family, to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on November 30, 2023. She was born on November 11, 1934, in Alva, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Lesley & Maggie (Mayfield) Mabes.

Barbara was a long-time, and faithful member of the First Baptist Church of West Carrollton. She greatly loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Robert P. "Bob" Brockman on September 14, 2023, her daughter Terrie Kanthak, 2 brothers Harold Mabes & Hubert Mabes, 3 sisters Helen Frith, Billie Jean Ratcliffe, and Betty Jo Kelly, and by a brother-in-law Charles Barnes.

She is survived by her 2 loving daughters Melody Piller and husband Steve, Tambie Trask and husband Paul, her son-in-law Eric Kanthak, her sister Shelva Barnes, her brother-in-law Raymond Brockman and wife Patricia, 7 grandchildren Austin Piller and wife Sadie, Jason Piller, Kevin Trask and wife Danielle, Rebecca Trask, Brittani Kanthak and husband Robert McClain, Eric Kanthak, Jr. and wife Elaina, and Mathew Kanthak, 7 great grandchildren, 1 great grandchild on the way, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the First Baptist Church of West Carrollton, 705 S. Elm St., West Carrollton, OH 45449, with Pastor Scott Wells officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (2 hours prior to service) at the church.
