Avinelle “Abbey” Schultz, age 92 of West Carrollton, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on May 11, 1934, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Irene (Hatfield) Lacewell and Dorsie Beatty.

Mrs. Schultz was a retired employe of General Motors (Inland) with 40 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and friends.

Preceded in death by her 2 sons David L. Shockey and Mark L. Shockey, her brother Dorsie Beatty, her 2 sisters Eve Blodgett and Betty Shroyer, her son-in-law Jack Scaheffer and daughter-in-law Tracey Shockey.

She is survived by her loving husband Robert L. “Bob” Schultz, her children Diane Schaeffer, Debra “Debbie” Wenclewicz her husband Christopher, Michael “Mike” Shockey, her 2 sisters Phyllis Cornett and Eleanor Alcorn and husband Austin, 7 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026, at the Swart Funeral Home, West Carrollton with Rev. Dr. Joel Getts officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in West Carrollton. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. (1 hour prior to service) on Monday at the funeral home.
